Enable notifications in Microsoft Edge

How to allow Push Notifications of new text messages from clients in Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge has a privacy feature called Tracking Prevention turned on by default. It's designed to block trackers and ads, but it also blocks the service we use to send you notifications (new work order updates, reminders, etc.). Turning it off for our site only is safe — it does not affect any other website you visit.

What you'll see in the app

When notifications are blocked this way, clicking Notifications in the app menu shows this message:

Notifications are being blocked by Edge's privacy settings (Tracking Prevention).

How to fix it (about 1 minute)

  1. Click the padlock icon in the address bar, just to the left of our website address.
  2. In the panel that opens, find Tracking prevention and switch it to Off for this site.
  3. Reload the page (refresh the tab).
  4. Click Notifications in the app menu again. Choose Allow on our prompt, then Allow again if Edge asks as well.

That's it — notifications should now work normally.

If it still doesn't work

If you turned off Tracking Prevention and reloaded, but Notifications still won't turn on:

  • Click the padlock icon again and check that Notifications is set to Allow (not Block) for this site — Edge has a separate site-permission setting for this.
  • If you allowed notifications for this site at some point in the past, Edge will not ask you again — that is normal, and it means the permission is already granted. As long as the padlock panel shows Notifications: Allow, you are set.
  • Make sure notifications are allowed for Microsoft Edge in your computer's system notification settings (Windows Settings → System → Notifications; on a Mac, System Settings → Notifications → Microsoft Edge).
  • Still stuck? Contact support through the chat bubble in the app (or reply to this article) and let us know you tried these steps — we're happy to help.

  1. Allow Notifications

  1. Click the Lock Icon to show site options, and then turn off Tracking Prevention (needed for push notifications)

  1. Reload the site

  1. Click the Lock icon and turn on notifications.
